Got promoted to System Test Engineer at DATACOM in January.
First time in Mexico, visiting Guadalajara and meeting friends from university.
Stopped for a few days in Panama City on the way to visit my parents.
Escaped the winter in southern Brazil for a European summer. Visited Vienna and Innsbruck (meeting university friends), Bratislava, and Italy (Padua, Arzergrande, Venice, and Verona) where I visited family on my mother's side.
Joined Logicalis Brasil in August, applying my Cisco knowledge and learning new technologies.
Traveled to Diegem near Brussels in November for a CCIE R&S lab attempt. After that, visited Brussels and Bruges, then met a friend from DATACOM who had moved to the Netherlands. On the way to Amsterdam, I made a wish to live in the Netherlands one day.
Got my CCNA DevNet Associate certification (now called CCNA Automation) in July.
In the middle of the pandemic, took the risk and moved to Eindhoven. The wish I made on the way to Amsterdam came true.
Joined Profitap as QA Engineer working on Network Observability Solutions with Network Packet Brokers.
As COVID-19 travel restrictions started to lift, began exploring Europe. Visited Sevilla, Jerez de la Frontera, Madrid, and Barcelona — meeting friends from the Caracas days and Venezuelan cousins.
First time visiting Portugal — Lisbon and Porto. Met my father's mathematician friends.
Visited Aachen, Frankfurt, Dusseldorf, and Cologne. Met German friends I had made during my time in Porto Alegre.
Visited Copenhagen and Helsingor, home of Kronborg Castle — the UNESCO World Heritage Site that inspired Shakespeare's Hamlet.
Crossed by ferry from Helsingor to Helsingborg, and later took the train over the bridge from Copenhagen to Malmo.
Visited Paris and the Palace of Versailles.
Visited Zurich, Luzern, and Sargans in Switzerland. From Sargans, took a bus to Vaduz, capital of the micro-nation of Liechtenstein.
Visited another European micro-nation and one of the richest countries in Europe, part of the BeNeLux. Met a friend from the Porto Alegre days.
Visited Oslo and Fredrikstad.
Visited Helsinki, where I met a friend from Caracas.
While in Helsinki, took a ferry across the Baltic Sea for a full day in Tallinn.
Visited Prague and Brno, where I met a couple of friends from the Barquisimeto (Venezuela) days.
Visited the capital of Lithuania.
While in Vilnius, took a FlixBus for a full day in Riga.
Quick visit to the capital of Croatia.
After a day in Zagreb, took a FlixBus to Ljubljana, and visited the famous Lake Bled.
Spent a few days walking the streets of the Polish capital.
Visited London and the Greenwich Meridian. Met a university friend who I had last seen in Bratislava years before — London was his new city. Also met a cousin from the Venezuela days.
Weekend trip to Athens, visiting its ancient buildings rich in history.
For Christmas 2023, met university friends in Barcelona. We did a full day trip to Andorra, crossing the Pyrenees and entering the country through Pas de la Casa.
Visited the capital to explore a bit of Bulgarian culture.
Weekend trip back to Italy through Bologna, with the goal of visiting San Marino — another European micro-nation.
Weekend trip back to France, this time through Nice, dedicating a full day to the Principality of Monaco. The fun part — it was one week before the F1 Grand Prix, so I got to walk the circuit and enter some of the pit stops.
Weekend trip to the iconic Budapest, rich in history. Also met a school friend from Venezuela — a Hungarian with Venezuelan parents.
Weekend dedicated to the Vatican, returning to Italy and visiting Rome. Besides exploring another micro-nation full of culture, the highlight was climbing the steps to Michelangelo's dome and seeing the Vatican and Rome from above.
Christmas trip to Ireland, visiting Dublin and Limerick. Spent the holidays with a couple of friends from Porto Alegre who I worked with at Logicalis.
Quick weekend trip to visit the capital. On impulse, went to the Transylvania region around Brasov, visiting castles that belonged to the Romanian royal family (Peles, Pelisor) and of course Bran Castle — the famous Dracula's Castle (Vlad Tepes).
One week trip in December with the main goal of chasing the Northern Lights. Since 2024, solar storms have been intense — they even appeared in the Netherlands. This time, even without a strong KP index, it was an amazing show every night. Also visited Thingvellir National Park, where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates meet.
